2023年：in 2023

龙年：the year of the dragon

兔年：the year of the rabbit

❥❥ race  [reɪs]  n.比赛

The horse race was very exciting. （这场赛马非常精彩。）

race : 比速度-汽车比赛、划船比赛、赛跑

a  car race , a boat race, a running race 

球类比赛：match

a football match, a basketball match

❥❥ town  [taʊn]  n. 城镇

I grew up in a small town. （我在一个小镇长大。）

 village 村庄

 town  城镇

city  城市

❥❥ crowd  [kraʊd]   n. 人群

in the crowd 在人群中

You can see us in the crowd. 你可以在人群中看到我们。

拓展：crowded  adj. 拥挤的

She felt uncomfortable in the crowded room. (她觉得在拥挤的房间里很不舒服。)

❥❥ stand  [stænd]  v.  站立

stand up 起立

❥❥ behind  [bɪ'haɪnd] prep. 在......之后

反义词：in front of  在......前面

He always sits behind me in class. （他总是坐在我的后面。）

❥❥ way  [weɪ] n. 路途

1).  Can you show me the way to the bathroom? （你能告诉我去洗手间的路吗？）

2). 固定搭配：

on the way ( to)  在去......的路上

on the way to school 在去学校的路上

on the way home 在回家的路上

Hey ! I'm on my way to school. 嘿！我在学校的路上呢。

No way 没门，不行，不可能

by the way  顺便说；顺便问一下

By the way, do you know where the nearest coffee shop is?（顺便问一下，你知道最近的咖啡店在哪里吗？）

1. In 1995， there was a very big race. 1995年举行了一次盛大的比赛。

这里 was 是 is 的过去式。

in 1995  在1995年

2. There were hundreds of people there. 

hundreds of 数以百计的

这是用来表示不定数量的复数形式。类似的结构还有 thousands of (数以千计的）， millions of（ 成百万的）。 但必须注意：说 five hundred (五百），six thousand (六千），two million (两百万）等时，hundred, thousand, million 这些词之前有具体数字而本身不加s

3. My wife and I were at the race. 我的妻子和我都在比赛现场。

My brother and I: 我和我弟弟/哥哥

You and I: 我和你

He and I:  我和他

Lucy, you and I:  我，你和Lucy

at the race  在比赛现场

这里的at是"出席"、"在某场合"的意思。

4. There were twenty cars in the race.  有20辆车参加比赛。

in the race 参加比赛

5. He was in car number fifteen. 他在第15号车里。

在表示编了号的东西时，可以用基数词表示顺序：

6. Five other cars were just behind him. 其他5辆汽车紧跟在他后面。

five other cars 其他五辆车

7.   On the way home , my wife said to me, "Don't drive so quickly ! " 在回家的途中，我妻子对我说：“别开得这样快！”

1). on the way home 在回家的路上

go home 回家 

注意：这里的home 是副词，不跟介词。

表示地点的副词：

home/here/there/upstairs/downstairs 

go home 

arrive home

stay here

go there

come upstairs

go downstairs

2) said 是 say 的过去式，属于不规则的变化

is-was

am-was

are-were

say-said

 

Lesson 69 语法

1. There was/were + 名词 + 地点

其中，was的后面接的是单数可数名词或不可数名词，were的后面接的是复数可数名词。

如：There were hundreds of people there.

其否定句为：There was/were + not + 名词 + 地点

如：There were not hundreds of people there.

其一般疑问句为：Was/Were + there +  名词 + 地点

如：- Were there hundreds of people there?

- Yes, there were.

- No, there weren't.

其特殊疑问句的用法为：特殊疑问词 + was/were + there +  名词 + 地点

如：Where were there hundreds of people?

【注意】本课出现了一般过去时的新标志性词语，即：in+过去年份或年代，如：in 2003 在2003年

in the 1970s 在二十世纪七十年代

 

2. 用介词at, on和 in 的时间短语

1). at+具体时刻，如：

at 7 o'clock 在七点整

at seven past nine 在九点过七分

at two to two 在两点差两分（即一点五十八分）

2、on+具体的某一天或某一天的早中晚

on Sunday 在周日

on January 1st 在1月1日（在元旦）

 

3、in+月份/季度/年份，如：

in April 在四月份

in spring 在春天

in 2020 在2020年
