He feels happy when he listens to music. （他听音乐时感到快乐。）

1. He's in bed. 他躺在床上。

in bed 生病卧床

2. What's the matter with him? 他怎么啦？

What's the matter with .=What's wrong with . 用来询问人或事物的状况，”.....怎么了?"    “......是否有麻烦”。

What's the matter with John? -   John怎么了？

What's wrong with your car? 你的车有什么问题吗？

 

3.  He feels ill.   他觉得不舒服。

    He looks ill. 他看上去病了。

feel ，look 是系动词，ill 是表语。注意 feel ill  和 look ill 在意思上的区别；前者指自我感觉，后者指外表形象。

4. We must call the doctor. 我们得去请医生。

call the doctor 叫医生

must  必须；应当

5. Show me your tongue. 让我看看你的舌头。

show sb. sth. = show sth. to sb. 向某人展示某物

6. He has a bad cold， Mr Williams, so he must stay in bed for a week.  他得了重感冒, 威廉斯先生，因此他必须卧床一周。

have a bad cold 得重感冒

so 因此，所以

These glasses are very expensive, so please be careful with them.
这些玻璃杯十分昂贵,因此请小心些。

stay in bed  卧床休息

for 可以引出一段时间，表示某个动作持续多少时间。

He studied English for three years.

他学了三年英语。

I must stay in Hefei for 5 years. 我必须在合肥呆5年。

We will stay there for two days. 我们将在那里逗留两天。

7. That's good news for Jimmy. 对吉米来说，这可是个好消息。

news  消息 （不可数名词）

for : 对于某人来说

Cooking is a hobby for my sister. （做饭是我姐姐的爱好。）

English is very easy for him.  英语对他来说很简单。

1.   感官动词

    

   feel v. 感觉

   look  v. 看起来

   smell [smel] v. 闻起来

   sound [saʊnd] v. 听起来

   taste  [teɪst] v. 尝起来

   感官动词也属于系动词，本质上来讲它们和 be 动词性质一致，作用都是用来描述主语的特征和状态。

   I feel very tired today. 今天我感觉很累。

    

   You look young. 你看起来很年轻。

   You look beautiful in that dress. （你穿那条连衣裙很漂亮。）

    

   The food smells delicious. （这个食物闻起来很香。）

    

   The music sounds beautiful.   音乐听起来很优美。

    

   The food tastes delicious. （食物尝起来很好吃。）

   The medicine tastes terrible. （这种药尝起来很难喝。

    

    

普通的实义动词用动词来修饰，感官动词用形容词来修饰，跟主系表结构一样。

 

The seafood in Qingdao _______ great. 

A. look B. sound C. tastes

The music ____ very nice. 

A. sound   B. sounds   C. hears

The food smells _____.

A. good   B. well  

 

 

2.   情态动词must 

1). must  必须（主观）

情态动词，没有人称和数以及时态的变化

We must study hard. 

I must finish today's homework. 我必须完成今天的作业。

Must she see a doctor, or take an aspirin? 她必须去看病或服用阿司匹林吗？

He must stay in bed for three months. 他必须卧床三个月。

2).  mustn't= must not 表示 “禁止”

You mustn't run quickly in the street. 你不可以在街上快跑。
